ASSIGNMENT 1:
DIGITAL WEBSITE
DIGITAL WEBSITE
Explain how you approached the problem stylistically and hierarchically.
My everyday design philosophy is to keep things simple. This was the strategy I tried to utilize from the very beginning when designing my website. Creating a clear logo, navigation menu, and body helped me organize my webpage hierarchically. Color wise I wanted to have something that's the focus and have the others centered around it. In addition, chose one font that was easy to read and could be used throughout.
How were other resources engaged to develop the most successful graphic design? What were those sources and why did you use them?
I drew from a lot of different inspiration found through Pinterest, such as http://evablackdesign.com, when determining the design and feel of my website. Again, I wanted to keep the overall layout and design simple, but still give it some personality. To successfully implement these things, I first designed a personalized logo and decided on an overall theme. I utilized apps on my iPad such as Adobe Draw and Adobe Sketch to quickly iterate logos and then sent them over to Photoshop and Illustrator to finalize. I used these tools simply because they allowed me to give my logo the personal touch.

Describe the challenges that this project presented, specifically Weebly and the basic html. How were those overcome?
Overall, I think the biggest challenge for me was getting started. I tried multiple websites like WordPress, Wix, Weebly, and even iPage to determine which interface would let me easily customize and give me control. Once I chose Weebly, the only challenge was figuring out how the tools worked and their capabilities. Any other challenges I came across were fixed through trial and error. If I didn't know how to do something, I found myself watching a lot of videos to figure out the details. In addition, I have a hard time making decisions when it comes to designing for myself, so creating the site was very time consuming for me.
Describe the challenges with getting your blog account running and posting to the web.
I didn't encounter many challenges with getting my blog running and published. there were a few times when I would go to "publish" and some of the edits I had made weren't showing up or simply didn't look right. Those problems were mostly dealt with through trial and error.
